Review of My Book
I give this book a three out of five star rating. It was a very good book that was full of information. It really helped me learn about my person. The author did a great job of organizing information, however, sometimes it was so detailed that it could get boring. It was a good biography though, so next time I need to read one I will try to get it from this author.
Emily Dickinson, A Biography is by Milton Meltzer, copyrighted in 2006, and published by Twenty-First Century Books.
Obstacles and Risks in My Life
Despite being a successful poet now, my life was filled with obstacles and risks. For starters, I wrote my poetry in the 1800's, when women weren't given many rights. Obviously, I received some criticism whenever I tried to do something that women "couldn't" do.
Another obstacle that affected my life is when I had tuberculosis in my lungs. This was a disease that was killing hundreds of people at the time, and some of my neighbors had died from it. I was coughing a lot and felt so sick. Vinnie had it too, but luckily we both survived.
Last of all, I was almost always interrupted from my writing to do chores. I had countless chores around the house, and they were not fun. But since my mother taught me her wonderful housework skills, I was able to get through it and still have time to write.

Special Facts About ME!!!
Here are some special and interesting facts about me that you may not already know.
I am incredibly attached to my hometown of Amherst. It is a small town, but I love it anyway. I love it so much that I have never lived anywhere else! Despite visiting beautiful places like Washington, Amherst is and always will be my favorite place ever.
My best friend is my brother Austin's wife, Susan. I have written more letters to her than anyone else! She is such a sweet woman and I am so grateful to have her as a member of my family.
Neither I nor my sister Vinnie have ever been married. It isn't much of a surprise that I was never married because I never showed much of an interest in marriage, but Vinnie did. She had a couple of men that she liked, but she didn't marry any of them.

My Traits
I have been told that I am a wonderful person with many interesting traits. Here are just five of the many that I have.
Loving: I love my siblings like they are my best friends. They say I have a very kind heart. I wrote them several letters when I was young and still do! I also listen to their problems and am happy to help them if they need me.
Unique: I have my own style of writing and don't focus on what others think about me. I am happy with the interesting writing style I have and don't want to change it.
Observant: I am a very good observer of my surroundings, which helps my poetry to be detailed. And we all know detail is very important in writing.
Mysterious: My writing is sometimes difficult to figure out, and I'm not always open with my feelings. Many people know me as being mysterious because of that.
Intelligent: Not only do I LOVE learning, but I am also known as being smart. I always made the best grades I could manage while I was in school.
